On Tuesday 18th February, some of the guards attended a free safety event put on by Motorcycle Law Scotland, together with supporting partners.

It was a great event and a very informative one with talk from:

  • IAM

  • Police Rider Refinement

  • Bike Down Scotland

  • Eric Hill

  • Motorcycle Law Scotland

As motorcyclists we are all about enjoying the rider experience but , the road, the views and the company. However, safety for ourselves and other must always be paramount.

One particular talk from Eric Hill was about the roads themselves and how they were built and how new road should be built. It tied in nicely with the talk from Motorcycle Law Scotland who showed us numerous examples of road repairs that can prove dangerous to everyone on two wheels.

The guards who attended throughly enjoyed the evening and we will bring this information back to the rest of our group, and to others.

Fletcher had an even better evening with a win in the prize raffle so the rest of us had to settle for a good brew and a tasty biscuit.
