Last night marked a milestone moment for the Widows Sons Solomon’s Guard Scotland and Lodge Colinton & Currie No. 1029, as two of our own Fletcher (aka Barry Peden) and Ninja 2.0 (aka Pawel Zakrewski) - were raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason.

What makes this occasion even more meaningful is the journey these two brothers have taken. Barry and Pawel first encountered Freemasonry through the Widows Sons, joining us as Associate members (non masons) with nothing more than a shared love of bikes and a simple question:

“Can you tell us more about Freemasonry?”

And from that genuine curiosity, their journey into the Craft began - fuelled by interest, respect, and brotherhood.

Since that day, both have embodied the values of Freemasonry and the Guard. Last night, they stood proudly as Master Masons, taking that next step with humility and honour.

Their story is a powerful reminder of how the Guard continues to serve as a bridge - introducing good men to a great path.

It was also a special evening for the Lodge, with a 60-year diploma presented to a long-serving and respected brother - highlighting the lifelong nature of our fraternity.

The night saw an excellent turnout of brethren, including several Reigning Masters and distinguished guests.

Among them was RWM Peter Stewart of Lodge St John Kilwinning No. 57, which proudly sits in the Province of East Lothian, and a deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Midlothian, led by Provincial Grand Master Brother Robert Reid Law.

To Barry and Pawel - your journey began with curiosity and continues now with commitment. We’re proud to ride alongside you on this Masonic road.

Stand tall, ride safe, and travel light.
