The Widows Sons Solomon’s Guard Grand Chapter Scotland — more than just a Masonic riding association — continues to build momentum with purpose, pride, and a touch of biker spirit. While our core mission remains rooted in brotherhood and charity, we’re equally passionate about sharing insight into Freemasonry and fostering an inclusive community for all who ride.

Today marked another important step forward as we gathered for one of our regular member meetings. During the first part of the session — reserved for full members who are Freemasons — we had the honour of swearing in our new Vice President, Jim “Subway” Gibson, and our new Chaplain/Padre, Gavin “Sloth” Smith. These roles are key to the heart and soul of the Guard, guiding our chapter spiritually and strategically.

After this Masonic portion of the meeting concluded, our associate members — both male and female — joined us, reinforcing our commitment to inclusivity. A warm welcome and congratulations go to Julie “Calamity” Rae, who was sworn in as an Outrider, helping to ensure our ride-outs run smoothly and safely. Julie was also appointed as our official Chapter Ambassador, a role that perfectly suits her vibrant presence at biking events and natural gift for conversation.

Prior to the meeting, the Guards enjoyed a ride through the Central Belt, taking in stunning views including the iconic Wallace Monument, before crossing the winding, scenic road of Sheriffmuir. The journey ended in Sauchie, where the meeting was held — a fitting location for a day filled with fellowship and forward momentum.

Once the business of the day had concluded, the Guards enjoyed a spot of lunch, a soft drink to quench the heat of the day, and a good chat about our next event. As always, camaraderie and conversation were in full flow — the very spirit of what our group is all about.
